She is only 26 years old, but already has clear ideas and roots firmly planted in the land she loves. Beatrice Foddis is the new delegate of the Youth of Coldiretti Nuoro-Ogliastra.
The election, which took place unanimously during the youth movement assembly held this morning, marks an important passing of the baton: Foddis succeeds Andrea Sedilesu and will lead the group for the next five years, supported by vice delegates Chiara Puddu, a winemaker from Oliena, and Jacopo Vacca, a breeder from Ovodda.
Originally from Tertenia, Beatrice is a breeder specialized in the care of goats, but her company also has room for sheep and pigs. She has taken up the baton of the family business with determination, carrying forward a vision that combines respect for tradition with innovation in milk processing and cheese production.
"I am very happy with this new role," said Foddis, "and grateful to Coldiretti and all the young people for their trust. I want to strengthen the sharing among us young people, create a network that helps us grow together. We know how difficult it is to stay in our lands, but together we can build the conditions to do so, and perhaps inspire others not to leave."
Messages of support arrived from the president and director of Coldiretti Nuoro-Ogliastra. "A big good luck to Beatrice," said president Leonardo Salis. "Young people like her give meaning and perspective to the future of our organization and Sardinian agriculture."
Director Alessandro Serra recalled the work of his predecessor: "Beatrice has inherited a beautiful legacy, but she has all the credentials to carry the movement forward with enthusiasm and competence. The federation will be at her side. Because the future of Sardinia, especially of the internal areas, depends on young people and their courage to stay."
