Another triumph for Italian sport.

The Italian national basketball team Fisdir (Italian Paralympic Sports Federation of Relational Intellectuals) with Down syndrome is European champion.

The blues - Chiara Vingione and Fabio Tomao (Basket For Ever Formia), Alessandro Greco, Alex Cesca and Andrea Rebichini (Anthropos Civitanova Marche) Alessandro Ciceri (Briantea84 Cantù), Antonello Spiga and Davide Paulis (Atletico Aipd Oristano), coached by Giuliano Bufacchi , Mauro Dessì and Francesca D'Erasmo - beat Turkey 21-12 in the final of the Suds Euro Open Trigames which took place in Ferrara.

The athletes followed up on the European success of 2017 and the world victories of 2018 and 2019, giving further joy to the sports lovers of the Bel Paese.

Over 500 athletes from 17 countries took part in the Suds Open Euro TriGames (Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United States), who competed in eight disciplines: athletics, five-a-side football, judo, swimming, synchronized swimming, basketball, tennis, table tennis.

Italy closed the competitions with 53 golds, 31 silvers and 21 bronzes.
