Following in the footsteps of Marco Spissu, another Sassari point guard, Stefano Trucchetti, is small (just 176cm), tough, and cheeky, and is making his mark away from the island. He's leading the A2 league with Pesaro, and Sunday's big match is against Tezenis Verona, who are trailing by two points.

Trucchetti scored 15 points in the win over Rieti and is averaging 5.6 points in 13 minutes of play and 36% of his three-pointers in the league. "Trucco" has earned his stripes and is a fan favorite, precisely because despite his average height, the 19-year-old point guard proves that with determination, practice, and personality, even the giants can make an impact.

Last season, he was at Dinamo, but he didn't get enough playing time (he was the third-choice player in his position), so after winning the European Championship in Greece with the Under-20 national team, Trucchetti returned to Italy, as he had done a few years ago when he signed for Desio. He preferred to start again in a lower division to test his skills and understand if his future lies in Serie A. Time and determination are working for him.
