“Bandidos e Balentes”, double prize in Venice for the film by Manuel Mulas
The film triumphs for the best music and the best makeup at the Retro Avant Garde Festival

His film "Bandidos and Balentes-The Unwritten Code" was awarded for best original music and for best make-up and hairstyling at the latest Retro Avant Garde Film Festival in Venice , one of the most prestigious circuits for talent established and emerging, which took place on 27, 28 and 29 June.
Yet another important international recognition, weighty awards for a film that never ceases to surprise. A total of 111 verdicts in favor, awards obtained in various festivals for a product that holds the record for the most awarded film in the history of Sardinian cinema. A self-financed cinematographic work among the most requested in festivals around the world which, among many awards, received an honorable mention at the Germany International Film Festival 2023.
«These are the umpteenth awards obtained - director Mulas observes with enthusiasm - and we can only be proud that a film on the history of Sardinian culture has unleashed such a stir in the world». The thriller film, shot in 2017, is a meticulous description of balentìa, that set of strictly unwritten rules that have characterized the island's history and that Bono's director was able to describe, a cross-section of island life between the 1950s and '60 through stories related to feuds, banditry and matriarchy.
