The company's new board of directors presents 2024 data to the shareholders' meeting: a financial year with a profit of 2.6 million and a production value that will record +6.8%

For Abbanoa, a profit of 2.663 million euros, up 54.48% (1.724 million in 2023) and a production value of 342.566 million, up 6.88% (320.5 million in 2023). But it is the investments that set the record for the water service manager in Sardinia, since its birth in 2006, with a figure of 121.3 million, also up 20.7% (100.5 million in 2023).
These are the main numbers of the 2024 budget that the new board of directors of Abbanoa, led by president Giuseppe Sardu and councilors Anna Maria Busia and Cristiano Camilleri , brought to the attention of the shareholders' meeting (the Region and 342 member municipalities) held on Tuesday morning at the headquarters of the Nuoro Chamber of Commerce .
THE NUMBERS – Revenues from sales and services amount to 298.96 million euros, an increase of 25.35 million (+9.26%) compared to the previous year. The financial management result is also positive: +10.76 million euros. Net equity, equal to 340.264 million euros, increases compared to the previous year by 2.664 million euros.
TRANSITION – 2024 was a year of transition , it was underlined, after the election of the new board of directors: «The new administrative body has already outlined important objectives that concern a greater presence of the company in some strategic processes, today fundamentally outsourced . The processes of internalization of the Purification and Planning sector have been started, as well as the creation of internal emergency teams for maintenance». The investment data stands out, highlighting «the fundamental role increasingly assumed by Abbanoa in 2024 with important repercussions for the island's economy and a constant streamlining of the infrastructure» . 51.4% of the investments were made from tariff funds, the remaining 48.6% through public funding with an increase in the use of the latter of 51.4%.
THE NETWORKS - In 2024 , 227.211 million cubic meters were produced by the 44 water purification plants managed by Abbanoa: water resources distributed through 46 large aqueducts totaling 4,300 kilometers long and 7,700 kilometers of urban water networks . The sewage-purification cycle is also fundamental, with 150 million cubic meters of wastewater conveyed through 7,700 kilometers of sewage networks to the 340 purifiers that allow an adequately treated resource to be reintroduced into nature.
