Flattering results for the Insieme Vocale Nova Euphonia and Corale Studentesca Città di Sassari choirs that participated in Calella and Barcelona in the Sing for Gold 2024 - The World Choral Cup competition, one of the most prestigious international choral competitions. 52 vocal groups competed, selected among the most important groups ever.

The two choirs founded and directed by maestro Vincenzo Cossu, who had been missing from the international scene since 2017, won three silver medals : the Insieme Vocale Nova Euphonia in the Adult Choir and Pop, Jazz, Gospel sections; the Corale Studentesca Città di Sassari in the Folklore section.

"I have no difficulty admitting it: at least in two out of three sections I was quite confident that we could reach the gold band - says maestro Vincenzo Cossu -, especially in the pop section, for which the two choirs, united in a single supergroup of over 50 elements accompanied by the four instrumentalists of our electric band, gave their best by performing a selection of the most beautiful and appreciated songs from our repertoire of cinema and pop music".

As per the rules, the performance of the songs required the direct authorization of the authors or an official arrangement present on the online stores. The Insieme Vocale Nova Euphonia and the Corale Studentesca Città di Sassari had the direct consent of Nanni Brundu for “Vendetta”, of Antonio Costa for “Badde lontana” and of Gino Marielli for “Sos ojos de sa Jana”. A further attestation of musical and artistic esteem.
