After 10 years and a thorough renovation, the "Michele Ruzittu Civic Museum" in Arzachena has reopened to the public today.

The mayor Roberto Ragnedda, who officially inaugurated the first two temporary exhibitions offered by the museum, cut the ribbon of the completely refurbished structure.

Available to the public "The time rediscovered", which can be visited until 2026, and "Alzachinesi - the face of Arzachena in 100 portraits", an exhibition created in collaboration with the Artechepassione association and open until 30 September.

The museum has an exhibition space organized in three main rooms on two floors. To these is added a small didactic space dedicated to children.

Therefore, room 1 "From the Neolithic to the Roman period", room 2 dedicated to the nuragic village "La Prisgiona" and room 3 set up with the temporary mineralogical exhibition and the exhibition of 100 paintings by Alzachinesi, the face of Arzachena are open. in 100 portraits.

The museum also houses the archaeological deposit in the basement which will always be operational to continue research and study activities, such as those carried out for the rearrangement of the structure by the Municipality of Arzachena, the Archaeological Superintendency of Sassari and Nuoro and the municipal company Ge .se.co. surl, who have collaborated in the study, cataloging and recovery of thousands of archaeological and mineral finds and fragments, many of which have been restored by the Restoration and Conservation Center of the Superintendence in Sassari.
