A new inventiveness appears in the city of the sun, the young and ambitious one of the architect Flavian Basile, and his team, who chooses Cagliari as the next headquarters of his company: Offtec. The rapidly growing activity represents a means of social development aimed at improving the quality of life, making it efficient and sustainable for the communities involved.
A hub for sport at Monte Claro Park
Offtec's project is the winner of the International Architecture Competition which, in the urban context of Cagliari, represents a cutting-edge action in favor of a dynamic and inclusive sports space. The intention of the "Sport Mapping - The metropolitan sports network and Monte Claro sports hub" initiative is, without a doubt, to improve the city's sporting experience to benefit the quality of life of those belonging to the community.
The Monte Claro Park, with its 25 hectares set in the districts of Is Mirrionis, Fonsarda and the small town of Pirri, from the perspective of Offtec and its chairman Flavian Basile, is transformed into a sports center that connects nature and technology in a perfect synthesis. The ambitious vision of Flavian Basile, and his team of professionals, aims at a sustainable model in which architecture and design move in unison and are expressed through the use of eco-friendly materials such as wood and stone, found locally.
The key points of the project dedicated to the green lung of Cagliari are the valorisation of the environment and the strengthening of technological services for modern outdoor sport. Offtec implements open wifi, video surveillance, the promotion of renewable energy, smart mobility and e-mobility, smart parking, accurate waste management, up to the insertion of totems which, thanks to AI, process personalized workouts.
The project introduces a first area intended for the strengthening of sports services through six sub-areas equipped with latest generation tools, and a second which, dedicated to socializing, is made up of a body of water, new trees, a square with seating and a park games for children. In addition to this project, Offtec has acted on the island for Southern Sardinia with a program aimed at landing places and, for the Industrial Consortium of Sassari, with an urban redevelopment plan: the Green Road, whose sustainable perspective applies to the municipalities of 'Cagliari Metropolitan Area.
The philosophy of Offtec and Flavian Basile
In the Monte Claro Hub dello Sport project in Cagliari, the distinctive trait of the mission behind every creative idea is highlighted: an architecture accessible to all. This vision aims to shape the spaces that surround us both as frames of vitality and as the fulcrum of as many social needs as possible.
In the conception of Flavian Basile and his group, architecture goes beyond technique and theory, taking on the role of an ethical protagonist. With this proactive mission, the constant search for innovation translates into concreteness thanks to solutions that dialogue with social change. Flavian Basile, born in 1985, is today among the youngest designers active in Italy. He founded Offtec in 2016 with headquarters in Benevento, his hometown, and then Milan, Catania, and now Cagliari. Son of a professional builder, Flavian leads his company towards increasingly important goals, so much so that since 2019 Offtec has established itself with prestige both nationally and internationally. Its activity is integrated at multiple levels: administrations, public bodies, businesses, civil engineering and architecture operators. There are many projects for which this Italian excellence is the spokesperson, in Italy and abroad. Flagship of urban renewal led by the talent of young professionals, Offtec also obtains the prestigious International Architecture Awards in 2022 in Athens. Among the various successes: Terza Torre in Tuscany, which recently obtained the UDAD - Urban Design & Architecture Design Awards 2024, the urban redevelopment of San Giovanni Teatino in Abruzzo with two winning projects in International Architecture Competitions; the evocative new tram station in Sassari, on behalf of ARST, and, among others, the Bosco della Musica and Nuova Beic in Milan, which have allowed Offtec to obtain several international awards .
Offtec confirms itself as a dynamic reality, focused on creative ideas, which boasts around 90 active projects, more than 50 partnerships and numerous mentions in international design competitions. Offtec stands out for its attention to the human factor that will experience the various projects firsthand: nothing is left to chance, sustainability is inserted as a legacy to future generations and living for Flavian Basile remains at the center of the planning of every modernity: “ It is our duty to find the best solutions capable of satisfying this right ”.
