Five proposals for the 2022 calendar
Le parole dell'assessore Giorgio Todde
The Trenino Verde resumes its tourist journey and does so with a new program defined between the Region and Arst to allow those who choose this experience to board vintage carriages pulled by the "littorine" of the 50s or by the Lde501 railcars of the years. '60. While the 1918 steam locomotive is still stopped for maintenance and restoration work which should be completed by autumn.
The 2022 calendar - from March to December - offers five proposals. On Sundays we travel alternately from Mandas to Laconi and from Mandas to Seui, while in Ogliastra, between Arbatax and Gairo, starting after Easter and then on weekends until September. The Mandas-Arbatax line is still broken in two due to the extraordinary maintenance on three metal bridges between Seui and Ulassai, built over 130 years ago. The route is one of the most popular connections for tourists: 159 km of line - the longest in Italy - which crosses the Gennargentu massif, in the midst of unspoiled nature, between isolated views and valleys on the Flumendosa lake, crossing some villages of the inland and passing by nuragic villages to then arrive on the Ogliastra coast.
Also scheduled routes in the north of the island: always on Sundays in Gallura, between Tempio and Palau (150 km up to Sassari) which passes over the Liscia lake, and from mid-May on the Macomer-Bosa (46 km), where the initial routes they will take place on sections of the lines due to the presence of work sites.
