First outings in the water in the Gulf of Cagliari for Luna Rossa 's AC75, after the success of the preliminary regattas in Naples with the smaller hulls, the AC40s.
For the boat that will participate in the next America's Cup in the summer of 2027 in Naples, after returning to its base at the Ichnusa pier, it is the third training session of the week.
"Since the beginning of the summer, we've been working on two programs," explained team director Max Sirena from Luna Rossa headquarters during the presentation of the Sea Beyond project exhibition, developed by the Prada Group with UNESCO. "One in Naples with the AC40s to prepare for the regatta, but above all to explore the race course where the next America's Cup will take place next year, and the other here in Cagliari."
"At the base, we've never stopped sailing the AC75 to advance all the development work, which is crucial because it will be the boat we'll be using next year. This process will continue for the next few months, until we move to Naples. We haven't set a specific date yet," Sirena concludes, "but it will be between March and April."
