The “Three minutes of celebrity in Cagliari” competition is coming to an end, a competition between short films open to students, enthusiasts and professionals with no age or origin limits as part of the fifteenth edition of the Alziator Award chaired by Maurizio Porcelli.
After the great success of the evening homage to Alberto Sordi with Luca Verdone, Giorgio Gobbi, Pino Ammendola, Pietro Bontempo, Demo Mura, Luigi Donà Dalle Rose and Renato Rundeddu, Enrico Vanzina, brother of the famous director, arrives in Cagliari (at 5pm, Thotel) Carlo who passed away a few years ago, who will present his book "My brother Carlo" published by HarperCollins which traces over 50 years of career of one of the couples who have indelibly marked the history of Italian cinema.
Interviewed by the anthropologist Ursula Ruiu, Maestro Vanzina will talk about his latest literary works which have been a great success and which highlight the literary style of the famous screenwriter and producer who together with his brother inherited the great and wise art of his father Steno.
During the event, the winners of the various prizes in competition will also be announced and they will receive the awards from the hands of Maestro Vanzina.
In just three minutes, the participants have to film and present Cagliari in very short author's shorts that highlight its merits, and perhaps even its defects, trying to fix peculiarities, hidden corners, original stories and the evocative places of the city praised by Alziator in the his works.
No specific theme about the city was required nor any kind of prerequisite to participate, but, as the philosophy of the competition requires, only a great passion and a critical and inventive vein.
Shorts made with smartphones and other media were also allowed.
The initiative, commissioned by the Francesco Alziator Foundation, which avails itself of the support of the Sardinian Region, the Municipality of Cagliari and the Foundation of Sardinia, sees as president of the jury the nationally renowned director Peter Marcias, fresh from success in some prestigious film festivals .
A special prize will also be awarded for works particularly close to Francesco Alziator's values. Special prizes are also reserved for personalities who have enhanced Cagliari from a cinematographic point of view.
