All ready for the Nuraghi and Vermentino Rally

The twentieth edition of the Rally dei Nuraghi and Vermentino, which will take place on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 September, was presented in the halls of the Berchidda Wine Museum.

The event, organized by Rassinaby Racing with the support of the Regional Tourism and Sport Departments, will be valid for the Italian Terra Rally Championship, for the Zona 9 Rally Cup, for the Sardinia Aci Sport Regional Delegation Championship and for the Pirelli Star Trophy Rally4 Terra and the N5 Italia one. Alongside the modern rally, the fifth Rally Historicu is also scheduled, titled for the Historic Terra Rally Championship and for the Regional, and the fourth Baja Vermentino Terre di Gallura, valid for the Italian Cross Country and SSV Championship.
75 timed kilometers are expected, while the total distance to be covered will remain below 300 kilometres. Berchidda will play a central role, on Friday 15 September it will host the morning shakedown and the departure, at 2.00 pm from Piazza del Popolo. First two passages on the special "Filogosu" (2.34 pm and 5.31 pm, 8.20 km). Saturday 16, double laps on the stages "Alà dei Sardi-Buddusò" (at 9.38, 14.99 km) and "Pattada" (10.22, 13.97 km) and the arrival at 15.40 in Berchidda.
«Finding ourselves here after twenty years is not a small emotion, as simple enthusiasts as we have always been we had taken a simple path but then we managed to get here», declared the president of Rassinaby Racing Alessandro Taras. Who continued: «There is no shortage of tracks in Sardinia and we have managed to grow. Then at the end of 2017 the decision to switch from asphalt to dirt, which had surprised everyone but which in the end paid off, given that the tricolor titles have arrived. We have a clay race where transfers are also almost exclusively on clay, and we thank Forestas for this possibility. Our Rally is also the promotion of the territory: last year we went to Spain to promote the race, this year we went to Finland and, thanks to this trip, we will have a Finnish crew in the race».

The municipal administration of Berchidda and Rassinaby Racing have chosen to promote the agri-food excellence of the area, in particular the Vermentino Docg di Gallura. The professionals and entrepreneurs of the area will exhibit their products in Piazza del Popolo, an appointment born thanks to the contribution of the municipal councilor for agricultural policies Luciano Sini, member of the Board of Directors of the Vermentino Strade. The presence of Mamuthones and Issohadores of the Atzeni Mamoiada Association has been confirmed for Saturday: two extras will be present during the awards ceremony on the platform, then at 5.30 pm there will be a performance by the group, which will act as a link between the race and the start of the collateral event "At the table with Vermentino Docg Gallura".
