The disastrous fire of two years ago still leaves a trail of pain and profound reflections in Montiferru . It has stimulated a renewed sense of civic duty and respect for the environment, flora and fauna throughout the island.
Now it has also inspired the opera for orchestra and narrator " The Fire of the Big Woods " which will be staged in Alghero tomorrow , Thursday 21 September at 8.45pm in the central Lo Quarter.
Created by the musicians of the Fossano Musica Foundation of Cuneo, the symphonic tale is taken from the book by Oristano veterinarian Monica Pais on the fire of 2021. After its debut last July in Fossano, Cuneo, it sets the book to music, telling the story of the fire experienced through the eyes of a fox, Half, one of the hundreds of creatures saved after the fire by volunteers and hunters and then cared for by the Duemari Veterinary Clinic of Oristano and the Effetto Palla ODV.
Pais wrote the book precisely to give voice to the silent victims of that tragedy: the multitude of charred or burned animals.
The work is composed and directed by Maestro Lorenzo Subrizi and is performed by the Fossano Musica Foundation Symphony Orchestra, voice Marialice Tagliavini.
