Alà dei Sardi, at the multipurpose center Don Addis is staged "The barefoot widow"

Tomorrow in Alà dei Sardi (9 pm), at the Don Addis multipurpose center , the show "La vedova bareza" by the Theandric company will be staged, organized by the theater company of Barbariciridicoli, in collaboration with the municipal administration and the Proloco.

The representation is taken from the novel of the same name by Salvatore Niffoi.

With the costumes created by Marilena Pitturru and Salvatore Aresu, the masks of Marilena Pitturru and directed by Maria Virginia Siriu, the show introduces us to the Barbagia of the 1930s , populated by small villages where life is regulated by the fascist podestà and from the unwritten laws of traditional society.

Violence is everywhere: in the fascist excessive power, in the oppression of the police, in the system of customs and habits that fossilize the members of society in a series of prescribed roles and commanded actions.

The woman is part of it, almost annihilated: devoted to rural life and destined only for prayer and procreation. The protagonist, Mintonia, immediately appears as the right character to break this vicious circle: unlike the women of her country, she gets educated, she reads Grazia Deledda and Tolstoj.
"A show that has the character of solemnity, and that will capture an audience curious to know the events of a woman who changes the fate of her life", explains Tino Belloni , artistic director of the event and director of the I Barbariciridicoli company. That September 30 is organizing another interesting representation, always at the Don Addis multipurpose center: “Carla”. It is a true story, that of Carla Baffi , imprisoned for 52 years in the body of Enzo Giagoni. The woman decides to change the fate of her existence. Admission to both shows is free.
