Ita Airways «confirms its interest in the regions of Sardinia and Sicily» and «in view of the high demand for the 2022 Christmas holiday period» starts «the sale of the new frequencies to the two islands» .

The company reiterates it again after ENAC spoke of additional flights announced but still inactive due to lack of some passages.

The following flights are already on sale: on 23 December an additional frequency on the Milan Linate-Alghero route and vice versa; on 24 December an additional frequency on the Milan Linate-Cagliari route and vice versa ».

Tomorrow other routes will go on sale: «On 21 December an additional frequency on the Milan Linate-Alghero route and vice versa; on 22 December an additional frequency on the Milan Linate-Cagliari route and vice versa; an additional frequency on the Rome Fiumicino-Alghero route and vice versa; an additional frequency on the Milan Linate-Olbia route and vice versa».

"Pending the completion of the technical procedures relating to the authorizations ", Ita Airways "will proceed as soon as possible with the marketing of further additional frequencies ": i.e. 4 on the Milan Linate-Cagliari route, 2 on the Milan Linate-Alghero route, one on the Milano Linate-Olbia route and one on the Rome Fiumicino-Alghero route «to cover the period 20-24 December».

ENAC just today announced that it had "contacted the airlines (Ita and Volotea) that operate at Sardinian airports to start the authorization process" for the new flights but that it was "waiting for the requests from the carriers themselves , of the additional flights to and from the Sardinian airports, as well as the authorization from the Region".
