Behind the secret ballot in the Regional Council that resulted in Campo Largo losing its majority was a clash between Regional President Alessandra Todde and her Labor Councilor Desirè Manca.
This is the thesis of Fausto Piga, deputy group leader of the Brothers of Italy party in the regional council, who speaks of "a rivalry that has already been hypothesized in the past by political news, but has always been denied by the parties directly involved with superficial statements, selfies, and public hugs."
The numbers, Piga emphasizes, "tell of a shattered coalition, with at least 10 snipers in the Chamber, a number higher than the number of Democratic Party and Progressive Party representatives present. It's hard to imagine the usual tug-of-war between Democrats and Five Star Movement: this vote hides something else entirely."
The Melonian councilor then advances a weighty hypothesis: "These dynamics never happen without the knowledge of the higher-ups. What if President Todde herself had coordinated the parliamentary snipers? It could have been the perfect opportunity to shoot Desirè Manca, her political alter ego, the most cumbersome councilor, capable of overshadowing the governor. If that were the case, the overall situation would be even more serious than we imagine." "We wouldn't just be facing a Campo Largo that has become a battlefield," adds Piga, "but a destructive dualism in which Todde and Manca are waging war on the backs of the Sardinians."
Beyond the reconstructions and likely denials, "the political chaos is clear," concludes the FdI representative. "The majority proves to be a charade at the mercy of factions, personalisms, and feuds. A governance model that has already wasted half the legislature and squandered the €2.5 billion in revenue disputes without addressing the island's emergencies, as demonstrated by a visionless DEFR. Politically, the legislature is over: if Todde hasn't accomplished anything concrete so far, she won't be able to do so again. Eking out a living will only serve to save her own position, not Sardinia. Draw your own conclusions with a surge of pride."
