After the illusion, Cagliari is back with its feet on the ground. The rossoblùs were hit and sunk by Palermo, who won 2-1, with one goal in each half, also overtaking them in the standings. Pavoletti's goal in recovery is useless.

Many absent and then Liverani dusts off Altare in central defense, with Obert again diverted to the left, while in the middle we see Kourfalidis again, with Nandez and Makoumbou. Up front confirmation for Falco behind Pavoletti and Lapadula. Cagliari immediately took control of the game and after 9' Pavoletti had the ball on his head to unblock it, but incredibly sent wide. Again Nandez (18') and Pavoletti (22') try without hitting the target.

In the 33rd minute we also see Palermo, with a header by Segre from a corner, no problem for Radunovic. In the 35th minute, however, there was the usual defensive error. This time it's Nandez who knocks down Stulac, for Maresca it's a penalty and Brunori, after almost 2' of protests, displaces Radunovic and makes it 1-0. Cagliari didn't react and, during the recovery, it was even Palermo that came close to doubling the lead with a left-footed shot from Sala that went high.

In the second half, everyone expected the rossoblùs and instead Liverani's team stood by and watched. And in the 8th minute, from a corner action, Segre anticipates Obert and scores the 2-0 which, in fact, closes the game. Because Cagliari isn't there and the hosts control without problems. The changes were useless, with Luvumbo, Dossena and Viola replacing Falco, Capradossi and Zappa, then with Pereiro and Carboni for Kourfalidis and Altare. Cagliari never shoots and Palermo, in the 41st minute, with Di Mariano almost scores, hitting Radunovic from close range. The rossoblù's first conclusion came in the 46th minute, with an unpretentious left-footed shot by Luvumbo saved by Pigliacelli.

In the 50th minute, the flash came, with Luvumbo's cross, Pereiro's spit and Pavoletti's goal in a slide. The goal ignites the finale, in the 53rd minute Pigliacelli saves from Carboni's left foot. It ends with the victory of Palermo, for Cagliari it is not enough to wake up in the final.
