For the first time since the beginning of the war Volodymyr Zelensky said he was in favor of Russia's participation in the next peace summit.
The Ukrainian president expressed a favorable opinion on the possibility of Moscow sitting at the negotiating table, which - on the contrary - did not happen during the talks held in Switzerland in mid-June.
“I think that Russian representatives should participate in this second summit,” the Ukrainian president said at a press conference in Kiev, expressing hope that the ceasefire plan could be ready for next November.
“At the end of July or beginning of August there will be a first meeting at the level of ministers and national security advisors,” Zelensky explained. Adding: «The first meeting will most likely be held in Qatar. In August there will be a meeting in Türkiye on freedom of navigation." Furthermore, concluded Zelensky, the issue of food security will be discussed, while in September "a meeting will be held in Canada in the humanitarian sector".
