“China will definitely be reunified.” Chinese President Xi Jinping said this while addressing the nation in his end-of-year speech.
"All Chinese on both sides of the Taiwan Strait should be united by a common goal and share the glory of the renewal of the Chinese nation," Xi underlined, reiterating Beijing's intention not to give up its claims on the island.
Xi also took stock of the economy of the People's Republic, calling it "more dynamic than before".
During 2023, the Chinese leader underlined, the country's economy "has mastered the storm to become more resilient".
