The White House announced that the U.S. will impose new tariffs on several trading partners due to concerns about "forced labor." The tariffs, effective today, range from 10% to 12.5%.

Products already subject to sector-specific tariffs will not be affected by this measure. The new duties will go into effect just as the temporary 10% tariffs, introduced by Donald Trump after the Supreme Court overturned the previous ones in early February, expire.

The new tariffs affect 60 trading partners, including some European countries, and will cover over 99% of US trade.
