"To ensure we have the most lethal fighting force in the world , we will rid our military of transgender ideology ." This is what US President Donald Trump told Republican lawmakers gathered in Florida. The tycoon has in fact signed an executive order to ban "gender extremism" in the military, in short: to prevent transgender people from joining it.

One adviser described the bill as “eliminating gender extremism” in the military and added that Trump had issued another executive order to remove recruiting policies that encouraged diversity in the military.

During the administration of his predecessor Joe Biden , transgender people were allowed to serve in the military. On the campaign trail, Trump promised to limit the rights of transgender people in the United States, specifically warning that he would end “from day one” and with “a single stroke of the pen” what he called “transgender delusion.”
