"They have robbed us for years, they are pathetic," the president said. The tariff for China, among others, will be 35%, 30% for South Africa, 31% for Switzerland and 49% for Cambodia.

Trump has announced a line: American duties will be half of those that, according to him, are applied to US exports.

Addressing foreign leaders, he called on them to "end their tariffs, drop trade and non-trade barriers, and stop manipulating their currencies."

There will also be heavy repercussions for Sardinia: 60% of the production of pecorino romano is destined for the United States. A heavy backlash could also arrive for the wine sector.
