Stop the mandatory quarantine for tourists vaccinated against Covid who arrive in Thailand. The announcement comes from the local authorities and the novelty will come into effect starting from February 1st.

The restriction was decided at the end of December to put a stop to the spread of the Omicron variant.

Fully vaccinated travelers arriving from abroad will still be asked for a test with a negative result carried out in the country of origin, another on arrival and a last one 5 days later.

The easing of the squeeze is an attempt to restore breath to the tourism sector, which is crucial for the country's economy. But "in the event of an increase in infections, the situation will be reassessed", said the spokesman for the coronavirus management center, Taweesin Visanuyothin.
