Tragedy in Thailand , where a fire in a nightclub left at least 13 dead and 40 injured .

It happened near the tourist city of Pattaya, southeast of Bangkok .

According to reports from the authorities, the flames broke out around one in the morning and hours of work were needed to extinguish the fire. The fire brigade also isolated the structure for fear that it could collapse.

As reported by the Bangkok Post, some witnesses said they heard two explosions near the deejay station . Then some sparks and the flames spread quickly.

Now the authorities will have to trace the causes of the fire and verify that the room had adequate emergency exits.
