Terror on the Ryanair flight from Thessaloniki, Greece, to Memmingen .

During the flight , a window broke, injuring a passenger. He was also at risk of being sucked out , according to witnesses reported by Corriere della Sera. The traveler was held back by his wife, who saved his life.

The incident occurred this morning, Friday 10 July, on flight FR1879, which took off from Thessaloniki at 6:12 am (5:12 am in Italy), operated by a Boeing 737. The accident occurred eight minutes after takeoff, when the aircraft was travelling at 600 km/h: passengers heard a loud noise, but before they even realised the problem, a broken window triggered panic, forcing the oxygen masks to drop.

The worst off was a 61-year-old Serbian man, the passenger near the window: his wife, with the help of another man, had to hold him back to prevent him from being thrown out . The seatbelt may have saved his life.

The plane then descended and returned to Thessaloniki. The low-cost airline confirmed the incident : "The plane from Thessaloniki to Memmingen, on Friday morning, returned to Thessaloniki shortly after takeoff following the detachment of a passenger window during the flight. A passenger requested and received medical assistance on the ground in Thessaloniki."
