Shooting in the center of Uppsala, a university town 70 km north of Stockholm.
Police confirmed that there were three deaths and several injured, but details on their conditions are not yet known.
The alarm was raised shortly after 5pm following several reports: witnesses interviewed by local media said they heard gunshots near a barber shop in a central square, not far from the train station.
The attacker is said to have left on an electric scooter and is dressed in black and wearing sunglasses: a manhunt is underway.
