A shooting occurred at a high school in Schongau, Bavaria. Police say two girls were injured. The alleged perpetrator is a sixteen-year-old who was arrested after the incident. He was carrying both a gun and a knife.

Local authorities are trying to determine whether the perpetrator is a student or a former student, as well as the motives that led to the armed raid.

Schongau is a small municipality of 12,000 inhabitants in the western part of the state. The school where the incident occurred, the Welfen-Gymnasium, has 800 students.
