Tragic shipwreck in the English Channel.

A boat carrying dozens of migrants (about 50) sank off Calais: the confirmed victims are 31, but there are others missing.

The French Prime Minister, Jean Castex, spoke of "a tragedy".

According to what is learned, the boat had left the French coasts for Great Britain.

To sound the alarm was a fisherman, who spotted some corpses floating in the sea.

Two helicopters arrived in the area, one French and one English, to try to rescue the survivors.

Two people were reportedly recovered from the waves and transported to the hospital in Calais.
