He allegedly hanged himself after killing his wife and daughter Sergey Protosenya, the Russian billionaire found dead with the two women in a villa in Lloret de Mar, a city on the Costa Brava of Catalonia in Spain where the family spent their holidays.

The Spanish authorities are investigating: according to what La Vanguardia and other Iberian media have written, Protosenya, 55, allegedly used an ax and a knife to kill his wife, 53, and his daughter, just 18. The victims were in bed. The man would later hang himself from the railing of the villa.

A reconstruction to be clarified, because the agents do not completely exclude that the responsibility for the three deaths is attributable to unknown persons.

Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, speaking of a case of gender-based violence, is unbalanced on Twitter: "A man kills his wife and daughter in Girona - he wrote - two lives taken away by a structural problem that we must eradicate".

The alarm would have been raised by the couple's other son, a 22-year-old boy, who for hours hadn't been able to get in touch with anyone in the family.

Protosenya had held executive positions in Novatek, a gas company. According to Russian media, he had an estimated net worth of $ 440 million.
