Prince George turns 11 today. George and Kate's firstborn, second behind his father in the line of succession to the crown of the House of Windsor, appears smiling in the photo signed by his mother.
He is wearing a jacket, against a black and white background, and looks like a boy more mature than his age.
A birthday that comes in a difficult period for his family: starting with the double diagnosis of cancer made known between January and March first for his 75-year-old grandfather, King Charles III, and then for his mother Kate who remains struggling with the effects of a heavy oncological therapy, although she has recently reappeared on the scene in two - for now in two official events.
"Today we wish Prince George a very happy 11th birthday!", the Princes of Wales, his parents, write under the celebratory photo distributed via social media, according to the ritual formula.
The young future sovereign will be celebrated in private, in the family residence adjacent to Windsor Castle. While there is no shortage of good wishes from other members of the royal family, first and foremost from his grandfather King Charles (with his queen consort Camilla), who - according to tabloid rumors - has already arranged for him to have "a special gift".
