Pope Francis has arrived in Indonesia , the first stop on his trip to Asia and Oceania .

The plane carrying the Pope landed at Jakarta International Airport .

After the welcoming ceremony at the airport, in the presence of the Minister for Religious Affairs, the Pope will move to the Apostolic Nunciature where he will meet a group of poor, homeless and refugees assisted by the Community of Sant'Egidio and the Jesuit Refugee Service.

For Bergoglio, this is the 45th Apostolic Journey since the beginning of his pontificate, the first of 2024 outside of Italy, which will see him visit, until September 13, not only Indonesia, but also Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste and Singapore.
