«We are monitoring the level of the Seine very closely, it is dropping very quickly, the weather forecast tells us that it will be clear, today in particular it is very hot. We are confident that we will be able to hold the races and not cancel the triathlon tomorrow and Wednesday", said the director of the organizing committee, Etienne Thobois, in the daily press point of Paris 2024, answering the question about the possible cancellation of races on the Seine.

«We still have a plan B for Friday's races - he added, also in consideration of the possible return of rain in the next few days - as far as we are concerned we are confident».

The swimmers also spoke out against the idea of organizing the races in the waters of the Seine. Among them the Italian champion Gregorio Paltrinieri: «We are also worried because it is a location that we have never tried and there will probably be cold, dirt and currents because the Seine is a river. There are no conditions for swimming but I'm almost sure that in the end we will swim because they have invested too much money."
