Tragedy in Los Angeles, where a 14-year-old girl was killed by a gunshot fired by the police.

The young woman was in the dressing room of a clothing store when she was hit by the bullet exploded against a man suspected of having assaulted a woman shortly before. The man died and the assaulted woman was transported to the hospital.

The shooting took place in a shop in the North Hollywood district, located in the San Fernando Valley.

In its reconstruction, the LAPD explained that they had responded to reports of a person attacked with a weapon. The officers opened fire when they saw the suspect attack another person, but one of the bullets went through a wall of the dressing room and accidentally hit the girl. For her, there was nothing to be done.

Authorities, who for the moment confirm that they found a metal cable near the suspect but no weapon, do not know the man's motive or whether he knew the woman he initially attacked in the shop.

The identity of the murdered minor, who was in the shop with her mother trying on clothes for a party, was not disclosed.

Police captain Spell spoke of a "devastating and tragic" incident, explaining that the related investigation is still in the "preliminary stages".
