Holland is preparing for a new generalized lockdown.

According to local media reports, the National Outbreak Management Team has recommended "rigorous" measures to curb the spread of the Omicron variant.

In particular, the closure of restaurants, bars, cinemas, theaters and all non-essential shops: a real lockdown like the one we experienced and knew in March 2020.

The announcement is expected tonight at 7 pm, during a press conference by Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Health Minister Hugo de Jonge.

Therefore, the measures just extended until January 14 by the government are not enough, including the closure of all non-essential shops and services between 5 and 5.
