The woman who, not far from the shore at Plettenberg Bay, along the southern coast of South Africa, was attacked and killed by a shark had an Italian surname . Kimon Bisogno, nicknamed “Kiki” , 39, has now been recovered lifeless. The partner, the Italian Diego Milesi, and the 5-year-old daughter were on the beach .

From the first information, it would have been a white shark, a predator that can reach six meters in length and guided by the sense of smell, it normally hunts for seals. Humans can be mistaken for seals, but when sharks realize they haven't hit their natural prey they walk away, even if the bite is fatal to humans.

The 39-year-old was the victim of the second fatal attack in a few months : at the end of June a man was killed off the coast of the same locality.

Kimon Bisogno was co-owner of the Ferdinando pizzeria in Observatory, a suburb of Cape Town, was very active in the homeless support sector and was also a yoga teacher.
