Mission accomplished, Captain Kirk at 90 is the oldest man ever to go into space
To welcome the actor as he exits the New Shepard capsule a thunderous applause and a hug from Jeff Bezos
A thunderous applause accompanied the opening, at the hands of Jeff Bezos himself, of the New Shepard capsule of the private company Blue Origin, which thus successfully completed its second manned suborbital flight.
Traveling beyond the edge of the atmosphere is actor William Shatner, (aka Captain Kirk), Chris Boshuizen, founder of a company for the study of the Earth, microbiologist Glen de Vries and Blue Origin executive Audrey Powers.
Shatner, 90, is the oldest man ever to go to space. The flight lasted about 11 minutes and allowed passengers to stay in space in microgravity for just over three minutes.
