Circulation of trains at the Ventimiglia railway station interrupted, from the early morning, after the shock discovery of the body of a migrant, literally charred, on the roof of the carriage of a French train headed across the border.

The incident occurred between two tunnels, with the convoy's passengers being dropped off and taken to the station.

The train driver gave the alarm and noticed some problems with the pantograph that connects the carriage to the power line.
The migrant may have been electrocuted at the moment of the passage of alternating current voltage (the one used in France). This is a hypothesis given that in the past several train drivers have noticed problems with the fuel system, right in the Calandre area, where the convoy has been stopped even today.

It has not yet been possible to identify the victim, who was evidently trying to escape from Italy to France, but investigations are underway to trace his identity.

Firefighters and health personnel are also present on site, as well as Polfer and railway personnel.

It was the Grifo helicopter rescue that identified the charred body, in contact with the pantograph that connects the roof of the carriage to the high voltage cables.
