" I'm going to shoot in an elementary school ".

This was announced to a girl by Salvador Ramos , the 18-year-old who two days ago broke into an elementary school in Uvalde , Texas, shooting 19 children and two teachers to death.

Before the massacre , the young man had sent a series of messages to a girl in Germany announcing his intention to "shoot in an elementary school" after having "shot his grandmother in the head". All this just before committing the massacre.

The girl is 15 years old, lives in Frankfurt and had met the killer through a social platform on 9 May. She talked to him every day on FaceTime and through an app called Yubo, he said, specifying that generally in their conversations "he seemed happy and comfortable". At one point he told her he was going to visit her "soon" in Frankfurt.

Yet other messages had troubled her . For example, he had told her that he had received ammunition that "expanded upon contact with people." She asked him what he was planning to do and he replied, "Wait, it's a surprise."

ANOTHER ARREST - Meanwhile, in the aftermath of the Robb Elementary School massacre, the police arrested - also in Texas - a student with an Ak-47 style pistol (the Kalashnikov) and an Ar-15 style rifle, the most used in shootings in the USA.

The arrest took place outside Richardson's Berkner High School , 560km north of Uvalde. A witness who had seen a person with a rifle near the school alerted the police. The young man was accused of carrying an illegal gun in a "weapon-free" school area.
