London responds to Milei: "The Falkland Islands are British."

The Falkland Islands "are British. Our commitment" to them is "absolute and unwavering."

Defense Minister Wes Streeting made this statement on X. The statement comes after Argentine President Javier Milei announced a series of projects to strengthen the defense of sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands, claimed by Argentina and a British Overseas Territory , known as the Falklands by London.

"Milei's statement tells us more about Argentina's internal politics than it does about the Falkland Islands. The Falklands are British because the Falklanders choose to be British," Streeting writes.
