Tragedy in Marsa Alam , Egypt , where little Mattia Cossettini , just 9 years old, died while on holiday with his parents , a couple from the province of Udine.

The Friulian family , who arrived in Egypt on January 2nd and were due to return to Italy on Thursday 9th, asked to ascertain the causes of death , which occurred "following an illness", and possible delays in rescue operations: an investigation into the incident has been opened by local authorities.

Among the hypotheses regarding the cause of the child's death, a cerebral hemorrhage seems to prevail .

According to the reconstruction, the little boy lost consciousness during a boat trip but later recovered and was taken to the holiday village's medical clinic, where he was diagnosed with heat stroke. He was prescribed rest and a restorative drip.

A few hours later, however, his condition worsened and the parents decided to take the child to the local hospital. Shortly after being admitted, however, the child died.
