Jerusalem: attack near the esplanade of the mosques, a civilian killed

A serious attack was carried out in the area of one of the entrances to the Temple Mount.

According to the military radio, some Israeli policemen were shot and wounded. In the shooting, a civilian was killed while the attacker was a Palestinian from Hamas.

At the moment the police have ruled out that there was a second bomber as reported at first. The weapon used is a Beretta M12 submachine gun.

The esplanade was closed to visits by Jews.
