Once the truce for the release of the hostages ended, clashes between the Israeli army and Hamas militiamen resumed in Gaza.

Tel Aviv's offensive is now concentrated in the south of the Strip and on the coast.

Armored vehicles of the Jewish State passed Wadi Gaza last night and entered the southern sector of the Strip, settling on the Khan Yunis-Deir el-Ballah artery.

Other armored vehicles took up positions on Deir el-Ballah beach.

Fighting between the army and Hamas militiamen was also recorded in the nearby area of Karara, while the air force continued its bombing.

Military spokesman Avichay Adraee ordered the evacuation of the center of Khan Yunis, after some neighborhoods were cleared yesterday. From what we understand, the orders are to reach the city of Rafah.

Meanwhile, Israel has agreed to designate large "safe zones" in southern Gaza to protect the safety of civilians. NBC reports this, citing a State Department official, according to whom the safe zones will be larger than those initially discussed, but the details are still being defined.
