X (formerly Twitter) and the popular ChatGpt are among the many online services currently experiencing widespread global downtime. The cause is believed to be the malfunction of Cloudflare, a global cloud platform that ensures security, performance, and reliability for websites and applications. When Cloudflare goes down, many sites, even the most popular ones, stop working.
The problem was reported around 12:17 PM Italian time, but according to the Downdetector website, the situation became critical around 12:45 PM.
This is a similar incident to the one on October 20, when an Amazon Web Services outage triggered a chain reaction that affected gaming platforms like Clash Royale and Roblox, design services like Canva, and even some cryptocurrency-related applications.
