Horror in Innsbruck , in Austrian Tyrol , where a 34-year-old woman and her 10-year-old daughter, who had been missing since July 2024, were found dead in the freezer of an apartment .

According to the police, APA reports, it appears to be a homicide. The two men suspected of the crime, a 55-year-old Austrian man and his 53-year-old brother, were arrested last June and have been in pre-trial detention since then , but the bodies of the woman and the girl have only now been located.

One of the two arrested brothers was a co-worker of the woman and had been having an affair with her, it was revealed at a press conference. When mother and daughter disappeared 16 months ago after a trip to Düsseldorf, investigators immediately suspected the 55-year-old, also due to strange movements in his bank account.

He and his brother, who owns the apartment where the grisly discovery was made, have admitted hiding the bodies but deny murder. They believe it was an accident.

The exact cause of death has not yet been established due to the condition of the two bodies.
