He gave himself up for dead and for years managed to escape from prison, now he has been arrested thousands of kilometers away because of Covid.

The protagonist of the story is Nicholas Rossi, 34, from the United States: he was wanted by Interpol for a sexual assault in 2008, and in 2018 he was also accused of another case of violence that took place in Ohio.

He was in Scotland, where he contracted Covid and ended up in a Glasgow hospital, Queen Elizabeth. There he was recognized, identified and arrested. He used the pseudonym of Arthur Knight and during his long flight he used numerous other aliases.

The Utah County Attorney admitted that if Rossi hadn't contracted the virus and requested medical attention, he would never have found himself. In fact, the man "fled the country to avoid prosecution and tried to induce the authorities of other states to believe that he was dead".

In fact, several media reported the news of his death due to non-Hodking lymphoma. There is also an obituary online which states that he was cremated and his ashes scattered over the sea.
