It is the one suffered by Rockstar Games , the developer of Grand Theft Auto , one of the most popular video games in the world.

A web user who calls himself Teapotuberhacker has in fact published about 90 videos of the latest version - number 6, still under development - of the game focused on the world of crime (and therefore often criticized). Movies for a total of 50 minutes that soon went viral on YouTube and also on social media .

To break the news was the same Rockstar Games, which is based in New York.

The same hacker proposed to the company to "negotiate an agreement" for the return of the stolen data , including the source code of Grand Theft Auto 5 and the development version of Grand Theft Auto 6.

The stolen videos are said to be authentic and show some significant details, including the presence, for the first time in the single game mode, of a female character, and the setting in a modern Vice City.

For its part, the publisher of GTA, Take-Two Interactive , acknowledged the leak and sent requests to YouTube to remove the stolen footage under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act .
