At least five police forces in Great Britain are investigating the increasingly widespread phenomenon of "spiking", the administration to an unwitting victim of rape drugs, capable of reducing, if not completely eliminating, the inebriating brakes and effectively "obscuring ”The memory for several hours.

Drugs that would no longer be administered only by inserting them into glasses of alcohol, but even by injecting them through a syringe.

The alarm was raised by the Times of London, according to which the complaints from girls who woke up after a night in which they only remembered going to the disco, and then suffer a real "black out" compared to what happened. The only sign left on their body was a painful hematoma in the area where the injection was given, usually on the hands, arms and legs, by anonymous assailants.

Nottinghamshire police alone said they had received 44 reports of "spiking" since the beginning of September, 12 of them through "something sharp" and therefore not common contaminated drinks.

Investigations are underway in Glasgow, Exeter, West Yorkshire and the West Midlands, but rumors are also spreading in other cities of those who were attacked in this way.

While Dominic Raab, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice, described "spiking" as something despicable and promised that the attackers will be fully liable before the law.
