A preliminary agreement would have been reached to extend the truce between Israel and Hamas in Gaza for another two days and under the same conditions .

A hypothesis supported by the words of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan this morning : " We will speed up our talks – he specified – for the release of the hostages and to make the ceasefire permanent ."

Biden also seems to be open to a lasting ceasefire for the first time : "Continuing on the path of war means giving Hamas what it is looking for," says the US president.

Israel has meanwhile received the list of hostages who should be freed today by the Palestinian Islamist movement.

A meeting of the UN Security Council is also scheduled for the day.
