At least 27 people died in a fire that devastated a pub in Bangkok's Chatuchak district, the Associated Press Online reported. Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said the cause of the fire was still under investigation.

A musician performing at the pub reported seeing smoke coming from a switch near the stage before a power outage, then an explosion was heard and thick smoke quickly filled the venue.

Many of the victims were found in the toilets at the back of the pub, Anutin added. It took firefighters about half an hour to contain the blaze.
