Explosion in a mine: victims and missing among the workers

An explosion occurred in a mine in Colombia. A first balance drawn up by the rescuers on the spot speaks of 10 dead and 5 missing, numbers that are updated by the hour.

The accident occurred between the municipalities of Tasco and Socha, at the La Chapa site, and was allegedly caused by an accumulation of gas. The five miners who miss the roll would have been trapped and the chances of recovering them alive are very low.

The National Mining Agency said the facility was under construction and consolidation and did not yet have mining permits.
